8 Dec 2014 --- Amigos is launching its ‘Original’ Tequila Flavoured Beer in a 660ml bottle for 2015, responding to the growth of big bottle formats in the off-trade.
With large single bottles now worth over £135.8m, it’s anticipated that they will continue to grow at a faster rate than traditional lager bottles, presenting retailers with an opportunity to up sell bigger bottles for a higher RSP.
This additional SKU will complete the existing Amigos range which includes Amigos ‘Original’ Tequila Flavoured Beer in 330ml bottles, 330ml cans, 500ml bottles and 4-pack, in addition to the recently launched Amigos Black, currently available in 330ml x 4-pack.
Simon Green, marketing director at Global Brands said: “We already know that around 8% of consumers solely purchase 660ml and that the pack format is especially popular among younger 18-24 year old drinkers. Having seen previous success with a 660ml bottle in the range, particularly through convenience channels, it made absolute sense to reintroduce it into the range.“
