Basmati rice, a popular long-grain Indian rice, world-famous for its unique aroma, and nutty-taste is grown in the foothills of the Himalayas. The plains at the foothills of the Himalayas are fed by the mineral-rich, snow-fed water of the Ganges. This combination of soil and climatic conditions create unique, favourable conditions to grow the best Basmati rice. Many nations have tried to adapt this exotic variety and grow it locally, but have been unable to recreate the unique properties of this rice.
Sourced from a group of over 600 small farmers, Ahaar Organic Foods introduces this popular variety of rice in the US. The rice meets all the regulatory standards and complies with USDA NOP organic standards. The rice is also certified Kosher. Organic Basmati rice is available in both brown and white forms.
