Agrana to sell fruit preps plant to Wild
The Bundeskartellamt wishes to strengthen competition in the German market for fruit preparations for the dairy industry and has ordered AGRANA to reduce its market share in Germany.
08/11/05 Austrian based fruit, sugar and starch group Agrana is to sell its fruit preparations plant in Nauen, Germany to The Wild Group. AGRANA acquired fruit preparations manufacturer DSF (Deutsch-Schweizerische Früchteverarbeitung GmbH) based in Constance, Germany, in July of this year. DSF’s German production facilities are located in Constance and Nauen.
The acquisition requires approval by the German Bundeskartellamt, or federal office of fair trading. The Bundeskartellamt wishes to strengthen competition in the German market for fruit preparations for the dairy industry and has ordered AGRANA to reduce its market share in Germany. AGRANA plans to do so by selling the facility in Nauen, Brandenburg, to German group Rudolf Wild GmbH & CoKG.
AGRANA and Wild have already signed the corresponding contract and Agrana said that approval procedures by the German federal office of fair trading should be completed by the end of this year.
