He examines future opportunities for plant-based, delving into how industry is poised to take products to the next level regarding clean label, nutrition and environmental impact.

08 Oct 2021 --- IFF Health’s Beau Bogemans and Vanessa Azevedo – who originally hails from DuPont Nutrition & Bioscience – give an update about the mega-merger nearly a year after completion. The new company has married DuPont’s science focus with IFF’s production and extraction expertise. The next year is also set to bring a host of launches, including products with women’s health, digestion, immunity and detox positionings.

08 Feb 2021 --- IFF’s online anthropology surveyed over one billion English-language conversations in an analysis method known as “social listening.” In this study, over 615,000 anonymous, unprompted, US and Canadian consumer-to-consumer online discussions were analyzed to gain a fresh perspective on consumer attitudes toward clean label and related issues. The company searched for discussions of food and beverage labeling, claims, related issues and key ingredients.
29 Apr 2022 --- This week, cell-based solutions provider Matrix F.T. announced plans to scale a new wet lab for designing custom scaffolding systems in cultured meat. CellMEAT, a cell-based shrimp manufacturer plans to bring its flagship Dokdo shrimp to markets in Korea, the US and Singapore by 2024. Meanwhile, IFF and Israeli start-up SimpliiGood by Algaecore Technologies made moves to develop the first commercial smoked salmon analog made entirely from just whole fresh spirulina.
21 Sep 2017 --- These are interesting times in the field of supplier mergers & acquisitions, particularly when it comes to middle-market ingredient transactions of between US$50 million and US$1 billion in value. Recent moves have included Ingredion’s move to acquire TIC Gums at the end of 2016. A very interesting example of catering to the middle sector of the North America market was IFF’s launch of Tastepoint. Chicago-based Tim Larsen works at investment bank Houlihan Lokey, where he is a member of the bank’s Consumer Food & Retail Group, focusing on food & beverage. FoodIngredientsFirst spoke to Tim about the current market for middle-market M&A in ingredients. He began by asking Tim what’s behind the spate of recent activity in this space.
03 Jul 2017 --- International Flavors & Fragrances have launched Tastepoint by IFF – a new company designed to service the dynamic middle-market customer in North America. Tastepoint’s brand platform is based on “the perfect blend of heart and science” with a focus on servicing customers with the “can-do” approach of a smaller company, and backed by expertise traditionally reserved for companies with a more global reach. The new brand was officially unveiled last week at the IFT trade show in Las Vegas, Nevada.Robin Wyers caught up with Kip Gibson, General Manager of Tastepoint by IFF at IFT.
