Puleva Biotech, Spain and The Wright Group announced a joint venture aimed at creating new products and markets for omega-3 essential fatty acids at a press conference during the IFT Food Expo. Wright Group willl create a new product line of stable fish oil powders with taste and odor characteristics based on its proprietary Supercoat and SMART micro encapsulation technologies. The line will be designed for use in fortified and functional foods and beverages as well as nutritional supplements.
The Wright Group will be responsible for all sales and marketing activities for the partnership in the U.S. and Canada, while Puleva will be responsible for these activities in Europe, Asia, and other markets where it has a strong presence.
