According to Wixon’s research, Baby Boomers (ages 48-66) aim to eat healthy and prefer the classic comfort foods they were brought up on, like meat and potatoes, casseroles, ice cream, and chicken noodle soup. Gen X (ages 32-47) enjoys classic tastes with a twist and is more accustomed to commercial, branded fare, craving fast food. Gen Y (ages 19-31) is drawn to bolder taste variations and is open to trying new cuisine, much more so than any other generation. Gen Z (ages 8-18) is big on snacking and enjoys eating out or grabbing food via take-out.
