Wild set to open new Logistics Facility

06/04/06 WILD is opening one of the world’s leading private producers of natural ingredients for the food and beverage industry, will open its new logistics centre within the Eppelheim facilities in Germany. With this investment, the business is increasing its efficiency and reliability to supply customers.
WILD produces 350,000 tons of finished goods annually in Eppelheim. Several hundred trucks arrive daily for the loading and unloading at the factory. From this location, compounds, flavors and fruit preparations are produced, stored and delivered to customers from the food and beverage industry. Along with this, Capri Sun, the popular fruit juice drink in stand-up pouches, is also filled and prepared for dispatch here.
The WILD logistics centre is claimed to be unique with its modern technology, which guarantees high efficiency and security. 1,000 engines and 2.5 kilometres of materials handling equipment in the high rack warehouse, ensure quick and efficient stock movements. Up to 200 pallets per hour can be received or released from stock. 15,000 bays are available for tanks and pallets. The specific requirements of the customers from BtB- and BtC-areas are both vital to WILD. A climate controlled zone ensures the optimal temperature for the storage of cooled products.
The logistics centre fulfills all requirements for the highest quality and security. WILD customers profit from the punctual and complete supply of fresh, high quality products. A direct connection to the company-wide SAP system simplifies the internal operational processes.
Construction was completed in only 15 months for the high rack warehouse and loading zone while maintaining current business in existing building structures. This achievement was possible due to the exemplary cooperation of the medium-sized business from the region. The opening of the new logistics centre allows for a smooth beginning as WILD begins their high season. With this investment, WILD has created the basis for further growth and strengthened the long term commitment to the location of Eppelheim.
