Wild Flavors Enters Strategic Partnership With Limkon in Turkey
6 Sep 2013 --- WILD Turkey, a subsidiary of WILD Flavors GmbH (WILD), and LIMKON will now be working in close conjunction on the Turkish and international market. Their joint goal is to continue to develop business in this growth region by providing an attractive portfolio of beverages which feature a high juice content.
Turkey grows fruit crops of international significance, and the country is also an interesting sales market for beverages. To make optimal use of both of these potential areas, WILD, one of the world's largest suppliers of natural ingredients for the food market, and LIMKON, a leading manufacturer of fruit and vegetable concentrates and purees in Turkey, have formally entered a partnership agreement.
WILD has been on site in Turkey since 2004. Currently some 20 employees in Istanbul work for WILD's beverage laboratory and in sales. With their expertise, they quickly helped establish WILD as a competent supplier on the Turkish market. Founded in 2007, LIMKON operates its production facility in the heart of Adana's fruit-growing region. The fruit-processing company is not only located in outstanding proximity to raw materials, it also works with state-of-the-art technologies and has the highest quality standards. Furthermore, its site in southeastern Turkey is very logistically appealing due to its access to the Mediterranean via the ports in Mersin and Iskenderun.
LIMKON belongs to the Ankara-based Turkish conglomerate LIMAK. LIMAK Holding is one of the top-tier holding groups of Turkey, active in construction, energy, transport, infrastructure, cement, tourism, fruit juice concentrate.
In the past several years, LIMKON has ranked among the companies that obtain their compounds and flavors from WILD. Now the two companies have officially formed a partnership. The goal is to leverage the expertise of both businesses and offer the Turkish beverage industry a unique portfolio: combining WILD's flavors and compounds with LIMKON's concentrates and purees will be especially attractive to manufacturers of beverages with a high juice content, but they will also appeal to other customers in the food industry. The collaboration offers the two companies the opportunity to give full service to the manufacturers in the promising Turkish market with a gradually growing beverage consumption every year.
Furthermore, with the partnership with WILD LIMKON aims to increase its production capacity, which leads LIMAK to invest more in the juice business now based on the joint synergy with the ingredients producer. WILD in turn benefits by obtaining a site for its own production. With the agreement signed, WILD intends to build a new production facility for compounds by the beginning of the harvest season in late fall in Adana. The beverage ingredients will be processed there and sent to customers. WILD and LIMKON are convinced that their joint approach to the market will continue to enhance their strategic position in Turkey as well as create new target groups.
