Widmer Brothers Brewing to Release Brrr Winter Seasonal

06 Nov 2015 --- Portland, Ore. – Widmer Brothers Brewing is gearing up for winter with its classic winter seasonal, Brrr Seasonal Ale, and the brewery’s annual winter kick-off party, The Big Chill. The party takes place in Southeast Portland at the Grand Central Restaurant and Bowling Lounge on Saturday, November 21, 2015, from 9:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.

The Big Chill is the official launch party for Brrr, which is available now in stores nationwide. The party will feature music, art, winter fashion, and lots of Brrr. Admission to The Big Chill is free and Widmer Brothers’ glassware for the event will be free while supplies last with the purchase of a Brrr.

Widmer Brothers Brrr is a big, NW red ale that emphasizes aromatic and flavorful hoppiness while embracing a feeling of winter with a robust malt backbone, rich body, and red appearance. Brrr, the brewery’s winter seasonal for eight years, features Simcoe and Cascade hops for a big, citrusy aroma and Widmer Brothers’ Alchemy hop blend for bittering.

The Big Chill is an Après ski-themed party this year. Attendees are invited to check out the latest winter styles in snowboarding and winter apparel during The Big Chill’s fashion show, with apparel and accessories provided by evo. There will also be a silent auction benefitting The Snowdays Foundation, a local non-profit with a mission to empower Portland youth through snowboarding.

Local artists have been asked to create winter-themed works of art from used snowboards donated by Mt. Hood Meadows, which will be displayed on site in the artist gallery. Partygoers will be asked to vote on their favorite works of art, with the winning artists receiving great prizes.
