Wholesome Finger Foods Make Snack Time Fun for Little Ones

27/07/07 Mom's little ones are always on the go, rarely sitting down long enough to eat. At snack time, it's often a struggle to find convenient, kid-appealing and wholesome foods that are also just right for little fingers and appetites. New Lunchables Jr. snack combinations are tasty and sensible snacks for active little ones ages 3-5 years.

Lunchables Jr. snack combinations come in three varieties and include familiar foods like raisins, turkey and peanut butter that deliver dipping and building fun for little kids. Each convenient twin pack is perfect for smaller appetites and includes nutrition benefits moms can feel good about.

"Moms today tell us they need nutritious snacks that her younger kids will want to eat," Darin Dugan said Senior Director of Marketing Lunchables. "With this in mind, we set out to create a new product that would make snack time both entertaining for kids and provide wholesome ingredients moms love."

Sensible Snacking

Lunchables Jr. snack combinations prove that mom-friendly snacks can also be satisfying for picky young eaters. Even more, each variety has three different snacks in one handy package, perfect for satisfying little ones and busy moms. The snacks are available in three varieties, including:

-  Lunchables Jr. Ritz Sticks, Raisins and Peanut Butter offers a good source of fiber and contains half a serving of fruit. (Sensible Solution)
-  Lunchables Jr. Teddy Grahams, Kraft Mozzarella Strips and Strawberry Yogurt Flavored Dip packs an excellent source of calcium and protein. (Sensible Solution)
-  Lunchables Jr. Ritz Bits, Kraft Mozzarella Strips and Roasted Turkey provides a good source of calcium and protein.

"Lunchables Jr. snack combinations give a fantastic option for moms who worry about getting their finicky little ones to eat wholesome foods," says nutrition expert Bridget Swinney, M.S., R.D. "The snacks are extremely kid- friendly and moms can feel good knowing that there are varieties that fit within the Kraft Sensible Solution Lunch Combinations guidelines."

The Lunchables Jr. Kraft Sensible Solution program is designed to make it easier for consumers to find "better-for-you" products. Each Lunchables Jr. Sensible Solution product is identified with a green Sensible Solution flag on the front of the package. When consumers see the flag, they'll know that product met specific, "better-for-you" nutrition criteria, on a per serving basis, for a specific category or group of foods, like snacks.
