Wageningen Launches First MBA in Food and Agri Business in the Netherlands
16 Nov 2016 --- Wageningen University and Research (WUR) has joined forces with leading European business school TIAS to develop an MBA in food and agribusiness that will help shape important breakthroughs of the future.
The Netherlands-based research institute not only develops high-quality knowledge within the domain of healthy food and living environment, but also helps to apply this knowledge throughout the world.
Wageningen says the agricultural world has become increasingly complex in recent years and within the food and agri sector, the demand for Wageningen knowledge is growing.
"This is an initiative that fits within the strategic plan of Wageningen University and Research. It offers our alumni - mid careers as executive the opportunity to acquire further skills in strategic management in agri & food context. It is a unique opportunity for executives to delve into the specific dynamics of agriculture and food sector,” says professor Louise Fresco, chairman of the executive board of Wageningen University and Research.
"MBAs are increasingly multi-disciplinary. The market needs managers who can respond to an ever faster changing world. There is not one way to solve a problem, a problem can be addressed in different ways, "adds professor Kees Koedijk, dean and director of TiasNimbas Business School.
The first batch of participants will start the new MBA in September 2017.
