United Nations Recognizes Novozymes
The goal of Global Compact is to promote responsible corporate citizenship so that businesses can be part of the solution to the challenges of globalisation. Novozymes signed the Global Compact back in 2002.
21/03/07 For the second year in a row, Novozymes has been recognized for our efforts to further integrate sustainability into our way of doing business.
In comparison with more than 3,000 other signatory companies from across the world, Novozymes is among the ones recognized by the United Nations Global Compact for their communication on progress in further integrating sustainability throughout their business operations.
”The recognition from United Nations Global Compact gives credibility to Novozymes’ sustainability commitment. It sends a strong message to our customers, investors and other business partners,” Michael Hougaard Pedersen from Novozymes’ Sustainability Development Center says.
The goal of Global Compact is to promote responsible corporate citizenship so that businesses can be part of the solution to the challenges of globalisation. Novozymes signed the Global Compact back in 2002, and the commitment is an integrated part of Novozymes’ values.
Novozymes sustainability work gives credibility to our Global Compact commitment. “An example is the little red booklet called Bribery – no thanks! that was handed out to all employees at Novozymes in 2005 and 2006,” Michael Hougaard Pedersen explains.
Novozymes’ social minimum standards and internal social audits are also part of Novozymes’ efforts. They document that all Novozymes’ business units across the world comply with basic human rights and core labour standards like standards for child labour, wages, working hours, non-discrimination etc.
