22/09/05 India, UB Group plans to invest Rs 100 crores in next five years and has plans to set up breweries in Orissa, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh, Group Chairman Vijay Mallya has announced.
Speaking to newsmen, after attending the sixth annual General Body meeting of the United Breweries Limited here, he said though the price of beverage alcohol was under the control of the state government, the industry was buoyant and the demand for beer increasing. Consequently, the first quarter of the current fiscal saw an extremely strong performance with sales increasing by 18 per cent, he pointed out.
