UK: Jamie Oliver and Sustain Launch Sugar Smart Campaign

23 May 2017 --- The alliance for better food and farming, Sustain, has joined forces with British celebrity chef Jamie Oliver to launch a new campaign - Sugar Smart! - to support a mass reduction in sugar consumption.

A new website has also been launched as part of the initiative run by Sustain and Jamie Oliver Food Foundation UK which encourages organizations and companies to sign up to Sugar Smart.

The idea is for organizations and companies to get the support they need on how best to tackle cutting sugar within their premises and how to run campaigns in their local areas. Over time, the network is expected to grow and ideas can be shared. 

Resources will be provided to those who want to pledge to become sugar smart which includes local councils and schools, restaurants, hospitals and independent companies looking to reduce the amount of sugar around their organization or business.

Some of the key features of the website include connecting with others taking part in the same region so people can share resources; guidance, assets and case studies to help and inspire ideas; tracking the impact and reach of activities and building success stories across a growing network.
