Terlato Wines Adds More Sparkle To Its Luxury Wine Portfolio With Nino Franco Prosecco
11 Jun 2013 --- Answering the growing American thirst for Prosecco, Terlato Wines announced an addition to its portfolio of luxury wines, with a long-term agreement to import and market the acclaimed sparkling wines of Nino Franco Spumanti.
The third-generation, nearly century-old Nino Franco winery is recognized as a top producer of Prosecco throughout its extensive range of offerings. All of the Nino Franco wines are DOCG, the most esteemed appellation designation in Italy, indicating they are made with grapes grown on the steep hillsides of the 15 communes between the towns of Valdobbiadene and Conegliano in the Veneto region.
"We've been eager to add to our already outstanding roster of Champagne and Sparkling wine producers, and are extremely pleased to partner with Nino Franco," Terlato Wines Chief Executive Officer William A. Terlato said. "Primo Franco and his family produce classic and approachable wines that define the exceptional experience that Prosecco can offer, and we look forward to developing an even stronger presence and awareness for the brand in the United States."
The Nino Franco winery, located a few blocks from the center of the town in Valdobbiadene, was founded in 1919 by Antonio Franco, and grew to become a sizeable Prosecco producer under Antonio's son, Nino. Primo Franco took the reins in 1983. He brought a vision of making sparkling wine of the highest quality including single vineyard Prosecco, very much ahead of his time in the region. He continues to pursue that vision.
"We're extremely pleased to work with a company like Terlato Wines that shares our commitment to quality," says Primo Franco. "Terlato has earned a reputation for expertise in fine wines that is unmatched, and we know our partnership with Terlato will help grow our brand in the United States."
