Tate & Lyle to Boost Crystalline Fructose Production in Indiana
19 Mar 2015 --- UK based Tate & Lyle has announced the investment of $65m by next year in order to further expand its US operations, marking its second expansion in Indiana in the recent past.
As part of this development, the firm will install new equipment at its Lafayette South facility, enhancing the production of its KRYSTAR Crystalline Fructose sweetener to meet the high demand from US and Asia.
Tate & Lyle specialty food ingredients president Joan Braca said: "This expansion not only allows us to stay ahead of the global demand for crystalline fructose, but also gives us the opportunity and flexibility to continue to grow within the North American and emerging markets."
In addition, Tate & Lyle is also planning to add eight new positions to the local workforce. The company currently employs more than 500 Indiana associates.
Meanwhile, the Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered an up to $250,000 in conditional tax credits based on the company's job creation plans.
