Tasteful art with closures
Amcor White Cap Deep Wide Mouth Twist-Off Closure chosen for Caviar range launch.
Abba Seafood of Sweden has relaunched its Abba Caviar range in a new premium design. The company has chosen a 63mm Deep Wide Mouth Twist-Off closure with button (DWB) produced by Amcor White Cap for the launch.
The new packaging consists of a 80g glass jar, which replaces the previously used 50g and 100g glass containers and the 63mm Deep Wide Mouth Twist-Off cap.
Printing on the skirt of the closure ensures that flavours and brand name are extremely visible. There are no side labels on the jar, ensuring a clear view of the product.
The project involved close co-operation between Abba's design agency and Amcor White Cap's Litho Department regarding prints for each of the 7 products in the premium range.
It is exceptional to use this type of Twist-Off cap for seafood products – it is traditionally the classic shape for jams and preserves.
"The change of closure to a deep drawn cap was a pre-requisite to be able to communicate with and inspire the consumer", said Marie Friberg Abba Seafood's Brand Manager. "Premium quality has been the focus during the development of the design".

The 63mm Deep White Mouth Twist-Off closure has a safety button tamper evident feature. The button pops up with audible click during first opening when the vacuum is released – a major consumer advantage. You can see, hear and feel the change.
The deep cap skirt provides enhanced printing possibilities and also ensures a better grip, because of a larger surface area.
Altogether there are 7 products in the premium range, including 2 new caviars – Salmon Roe and Dill & Lemon. The new products bring variation and dynamism to the caviar category.
The range needs to be refrigerated at all times.
Abba Seafood has been processing "the best the sea can offer" since 1838. It provides high quality products from the sea with strong branding and identity.
Abba's range includes herring, caviar, prawns, mussels, tuna and spreads. The company has a significant presence in glass packaging.
