Taiyo Launches Water-Soluble Q-10 Ingredient
Recognising this potential to deliver a natural solution to modern-day health conditions, Taiyo has worked in close collaboration with recognised leading supplier of Q-10, Kaneka, to deliver Sunactive Q-10.
3 Dec 2009 --- Taiyo Europe, the European office of Taiyo Kagaku Japa, has presented its latest innovation – a water soluble ingredient with ten percent coenzyme Q-10 content. SunActive Q-10 offers food and beverage manufacturers the antioxidising benefits of Q-10 in an easy-to-use format. The co-enzyme’s low polarity and thus water solubility has historically posed a problem to manufacturers. Taiyo’s advanced research and technological capabilities have overcome this issue, developing a water-soluble product suited to a variety of applications, which includes beverages and yoghurts.
Q-10, or the co-enzyme ubiquinone, plays an essential role in the body’s energy generation, in particular in the heart and liver, where energy requirements are greatest. Acting as an antioxidant, Q-10 is known to help address metabolic disorders and hypertension.
The company refines its product portfolio to suit the needs of the market. Josef Skrna, sales and marketing director, Taiyo Europe comments: “Today’s hectic and pressured schedules take considerable toll on the body, and this trend shows no sign of relenting. Our products are designed to help manufacturers make a simple and effective transition to a market where food and beverage products deliver something more. We strongly believe that adding new value is the way forward in the food and beverage industry.
“Consumers are well informed in their choices, and we have the scientific and technical abilities to give them an option they can truly believe in.”
Recognising this potential to deliver a natural solution to modern-day health conditions, Taiyo has worked in close collaboration with recognised leading supplier of Q-10, Kaneka, to deliver Sunactive Q-10. This and others in its range of innovative products are formulated with health and convenience in mind.
Over the years Taiyo has helped many customers tap into the growing market for green tea products, demonstrating how to capture the natural benefits of green tea in food and beverage applications. With consumer expectations heightening, the proven health appeal of green tea provides an essential edge for product success in today’s competitive markets. Taking pride in its production – from the plant to the packaged product – Taiyo tests and monitors its tea crop to the most stringent regulations, assuring customers of an entirely traceable, natural ingredient.
Taiyo’s flagship range of products includes, among others, Sunphenon, offering improved antimicrobial as well as antioxidant activity and thermogenic, or fat-burning activity; SunActive Zn-240, which delivers the essential trace mineral zinc in a highly bioavailable delivery system and containins a minimum of 240 mg/g zinc oxide, and Sunfiber, helping alleviate the symptoms of Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and improving bowel function.
