Totai Citrus, based in Santa Cruz (Bolivia), is bound to become one of the leading producers of lemon juice of coming years.
5 Mar 2013 --- For 2013, Totai Citrus anticipates transforming 30'000 tons of lemons, 100% from own production, and sell on the market about 1'800 tons of concentrated lemon juice 400/500 GPL cloudy, over its production months from January to July and September to December.
With over 1'400 hectares dedicated to the cultivation of lemons, Totai Citrus is capable of guaranteeing the quality of its production with the lowest presence of chemical pesticides in the market for its essential oils and juice products. This extra care in cultivation, coupled with its recently launched industrial facility, has allowed the Bolivian company to obtain the SGF (Schutzgemeinschaft der Fruchtsaft-Industrie) certification for 2013. Totai Citrus also achieved compliance for GFSI approved FSSC 22000 and HACCP food safety certification schemes.
Future growth plans for Totai Citrus includes the increase of 500 hectares per year, so as to reach a yearly production of over 150'000 tons of lemons from which it aims to extract over 9'000 MT of concentrated juice products, including cloudy and clarified juices, aromas, peel wash, etc.
The products may be shipped straight from South America as EU duty-free goods, according to treaty agreements between Bolivia and Europe, or may be withdrawn at Totai Citrus' cold stores in the Netherlands.
