Stora Enso Introduces Improved Tambrite

23 Dec 2013 --- Stora Enso is reducing the basis weight of its Tambrite packaging board to improve its efficiency and environmental performance. Thanks to recent product development the runnability, stiffness, print results and packaging performance of the boards are guaranteed to remain as good as ever.

Tambrite is the most well-known carton board brand among European converters and is widely used in pharmaceutical, food, chocolate and confectionery packaging. The reduction of the basis weight of the board provides benefits throughout the supply chain by generating savings in raw materials, less weight in storage and transportation, less packaging waste and fees, and a lower carbon footprint.

Suitable for the most demanding applications

"Tambrite will be an even more efficient and environmentally friendly choice than ever before. Yet it will offer the same outstanding performance in the most demanding applications such as pharmaceutical packaging with laser or inkjet coding or Braille embossing. We are pleased to present Tambrite as the number one choice for pharmaceutical, food and chocolate brand owners who look for excellent packaging performance and value for money," says Öystein Aksnes, General Packaging Segment Director at Stora Enso.

Tambrite is produced at Stora Enso Ingerois Mill, Finland. The mill will gradually introduce the new, lower grammage range in production to enable a smooth switch and flexible board deliveries to all customers who use Tambrite in their packages. Stora Enso's new supply chain management process and effective sheeting services help ensure quick board deliveries according to customers' individual demands.
