Sobieski Vodka, Poland's #1 Premium Vodka, Triumphs as Best-Tasting Vodka in France, the Land of Grey Goose
Ms. Nouet concluded by observing that "there are still many genuine vodka brands out there, but often the good ones are lost in a sea of contrived products created by sophisticated marketeers.
02/11/07 Sobieski Vodka, Poland's #1 premium vodka and the world's #7 bestselling international vodka, was ranked the number one vodka among 25 different brands in a blind tasting by La Revue du Vin de France, a top wine and spirits publication in France, in their September, 2007 issue. It was awarded 16.5 points out of 20 and deemed outstanding, outscoring French contenders like Grey Goose and Ciroc, Sweden's Absolut and Svedka, as well as Russia's Stolichnaya.
Martine Nouet, the writer in La Revue du Vin de France commented in her article (translated from French) that Sobieski Vodka, "dominates the tasting." She described Sobieski Vodka as "balanced, delicate and elegant, it has a nose of slightly acidic fruitiness. On the palate, it is well structured. The fruit is still present, but so are the spicy and slightly acid notes from the rye. A superb vodka for lovers of grain and spice, perfectly suitable for all occasions." She further noted the proliferation of 5,000 vodka brands worldwide, and "many disappear as fast as they come." Ms. Nouet concluded by observing that "there are still many genuine vodka brands out there, but often the good ones are lost in a sea of contrived products created by sophisticated marketeers. Pity!"
"We are extremely proud of the recognition that Sobieski Vodka received in the blind tasting by La Revue du Vin de France," said Chester Brandes, President and CEO of Imperial Brands, Inc., which is the sole importer of Sobieski Vodka and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Belvedere S.A. "Ms. Nouet echoes our 'Truth in Vodka' campaign, which calls on consumers to look at what's in their bottle of vodka -- quality, authenticity, tradition -- and reinforces our position that you do not have to pay exorbitant prices to get great quality vodka!"
