Scarlet Lane Brewing Announces Collaboration With Tinker Coffee

18 Dec 2015 --- After several months of research and public participation, Scarlet Lane Brewing Company is launching Tiberius Centurion IPA in January 2016. The double-IPA will join the year-round lineup of Scarlet Lane beers. Tiberius is a Northwest dank style IPA using a selection of high beta hops including Crystal and Horizon. Tiberius will be offered at the standard flagship pricing as the other Scarlet Lane year-round beers.

Alongside Tiberius Centurion IPA, Scarlet Lane worked with Tinker Coffee to develop a hopped Sumatra coffee called Tiberius Hopped Sumatra. “We wanted to take some of the floral, funky citrus notes of the hops and marry them with the herbal and earthy notes of a Sumatran coffee. To achieve the aromatic and taste profile of the coffee, we rest the unroasted beans with the hops, and then again after the coffee has been roasted. It’s a uniquely flavorful coffee with a funky floral bouquet.” Says Stephen Hall of Tinker Coffee.

Tiberius comes in at 100IBUs and is named after the Roman Emperor who controlled Centuries of 100 men. Horizon hops were used to create the Tinker Coffee and both the beer and coffee will launch together, throughout Indiana, in January of 2016.
