Saputo Appoints COO of International Unit Bockmann to Group COO
25 Apr 2016 --- Saputo has appointed the chief operating officer of its international division Kai Bockmann as its new chief operating officer, replacing Dino Dello Sbarba who is retiring next year.
Bockmann has been with Saputo, Canada’s largest dairy processor, since 2012. He has served as chief operating officer for its international division in that period, a role he will continue in when he is promoted to the group chief operating role in April next year.
Bockmann will report to Saputo chief executive Lino Anthony Saputo Jr.
Sbarba and Bockman will work on the transition of roles over the next year.
Sbarba, who has been with Saputo for 27 years, will continue to act as an adviser to Saputo after he has retired.
In March this year, Saputo said it was to close three of its factories in its home market of Canada leading to 230 redundancies.
Saputo said it was closing the factories to make itself more efficient.
The three plants closing were in Ottawa, Sydney (Nova Scotia) and Princeville (Quebec).
The production that took place at the plants is being moved to existing Saputo plants.
