Santa Fe Brewing Company’s ’12 Beers of Christmas’ Returns
11 Dec 2015 --- Santa Fe Brewing Company (SFBC) is ecstatic to bring back the holiday tradition of “12 Beers of Christmas.”
For the last 4 years, the brewery has held a special release of limited small batch beers brewed by individuals from both the homebrew community, as well as employees of the brewery. As the name implies, each day, for the 12 days leading up to Christmas, a new holiday-inspired beer is tapped at two of the brewery’s chosen taprooms for the public to enjoy. But be sure to get there early because these beers disappear faster than Santa up a chimney.
“We don’t place any limitations on the recipes,” owner Brian Lock said. “We encourage the brewers to get creative and have fun with it. That’s what makes it an exciting event.” Included among this year’s creative brews, brewed by many of SFBC’s own employees are beers such as Papo’s Pumpkin Milk Stout (on nitro), James Brown Ale, Drunkel Stiltskin, and an Oregano IPA. The event will conclude with a super-charged version of SFBC’s award-winning Imperial Java Stout called Last Minute Shopping, which will be tapped on the 23rd so that Santa Fe Brewing’s families can observe the holidays.
This special event serves as a means of connecting the brewery with the community, teaching better brewing skills to those that wish to learn them, and giving anyone with the desire to create a beer the opportunity to do so. This has always been a widely popular event, from those that sign up to brew the beers to those that come in to taste them. This year, with the opening of the new Albuquerque Taproom at the Green Jeans Farmery Complex on 3600 Cutler Ave, the people of Albuquerque will get a chance to try these special beers for the first time, as they will tapped at both the Albuquerque Taproom and the Santa Fe Main Taproom, on the same days and times. The first beer on the line-up is “Down the Chimney Porter” and will be tapped on Saturday December 12th. Beers will be tapped on the weekends at 2:00pm and on the weekdays at 5:00pm. Hoppy Holidays from Santa Fe Brewing Company!
