Sale of Former Puttershoek Sugar Factory Site Near Completion

The sale will not include that part of the site to the south of Weverseinde where the specialities factory, distribution centre and silos are located.

17/10/08 Suiker Unie and DHVG are at an advanced stage of negotiating the proposed sale of the 120 hectare site of the former sugar factory in Puttershoek that Suiker Unie no longer uses. The two parties expect to reach final agreement in the next few months.

The sale will not include that part of the site to the south of Weverseinde where the specialities factory, distribution centre and silos are located. This part of the site and the businesses located on it will remain the property of Suiker Unie and will continue to form an integral part of its operations.

DHVG intends to retain the site's industrial use and develop the 120 hectare location further for that purpose. To this end, it will open talks with the appropriate authorities in the near future.
