RoopGroup to launch exotic mixed chips
The Roop Exotic Mixed Chips that includes rounded cut banana, plantain, cassava and sweet potatoes were tested at the Palm Court Restaurant and the Pegasus Pool Side.
17/04/06 RoopGroup (RG) Chairman, Peter Ramsaroop, announced that the company successfully tested a local combination of mixed chips. The Roop Exotic Mixed Chips that includes rounded cut banana, plantain, cassava and sweet potatoes were tested at the Palm Court Restaurant and the Pegasus Pool Side. Over 10 workers were contracted for this pilot project. The company plans to extend the pilot to other local areas. Both Pegasus and Palm Court have now signed contracts with the company.
According to Mr. Pascal, Managing Director of Pegasus “I am pleased with the response from our customers and we are excited in supporting the expansion of Guyana local products.”

The company was pleased to be using their Land of Cannan facility to produce this value added product. It plans to display the pilot project at GuyExpo. The project will see the company moving into the export market rapidly with the packaging of this product.
In addition, the company is also testing a pepper sauce designed specifically for the European market. More information will be forth coming. Also in the making is other products including chips dips.
