Reynolds introduces new microwave-safe rotisserie packaging made with NOVA Chemicals' new foamable DYLARK FG resins
Designed for rotisserie chickens and other hot, prepared foods, Reynolds' new package offers significantly improved convenience, value and safety compared to existing roasters.
23/06/06 Reynolds Food Packaging LLC, an Alcoa business, and NOVA Chemicals Corporation announced today the launch of Reynolds' new, microwave-safe rotisserie packaging made with NOVA Chemicals' foamable DYLARK® FG resins. Designed for rotisserie chickens and other hot, prepared foods, Reynolds' new package offers significantly improved convenience, value and safety compared to existing roasters.
"Reynolds' innovative roaster represents the ability to meet ever increasing consumer and customer demands for improved packaging," said Robert Moskovitz, Director of Marketing for Reynolds Food Packaging. "Guided by in-depth consumer research, our Product Innovation Team defined the process and market specifications needed to exceed consumer expectations. We chose NOVA Chemicals' foamable DYLARK FG because it allows us to offer supermarkets and food service providers a safer, higher-performing microwaveable roaster option. Consumers appreciate our roaster because it is microwave safe, leak resistant, keeps food hot during transportation, maintains strength and rigidity during heating and re-heating, and remains cool to the touch when removed from the microwave or warming table."
NOVA Chemicals developed the foamable DYLARK FG line of styrene maleic anhydride (SMA) co-polymers to provide an unmatched combination of leak resistance, stiffness at high temperatures and excellent insulating properties. Patent-pending foamable DYLARK FG resins are FDA-compliant, can be processed on existing foam extrusion equipment and feature lower costs per part compared to polypropylene.
"We are very pleased to provide Reynolds with innovative food packaging resins that reinforce the high quality associated with the Reynolds brand," said Debra van Holst, Global Packaging Director for NOVA Chemicals. "Foamable DYLARK FG resins set new standards in quality and safety, enabling our customers to offer high-performance food packaging alternatives."
