Premium Blendhub "Portable Powder Blending" Factory Becomes Fully Operational in India
17 Feb 2014 --- The "Portable Powder Blending" factory, marketed by the company Blendhub, is in India producing with the highest levels of security and quality. The plant has been instrumental for Premium Ingredients Food Services India's aim of obtaining the Food Safety System Certification 22000 (FSSC-22000).
The FSSC-22000 certification has been developed by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) and is based on the standards UNE-EN ISO 22000 and BSI PAS 220. For Premium Ingredients Food Services India, it will ensure the safety of the perishable products processed by the company through the “Portable Powder Blending”, which also has strict cleaning protocols, developed entirely by Blendhub to cover all requirements needed by the blends produced in these kind of plants.
Located in the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) of Sri City, north of Chennai, India, Premium Ingredients Food Services India is a company committed to quality and safety, which had already been recognized in 2012 as the first enterprise in the SEZ, among more than 100 other installed there, in obtaining the ISO 22000, ISO 14000 and ISO 9001 certifications.
The “Portable Powder Blending” factory is capable of producing, on average, a batch every 12 minutes of up to 6000 tons per year and is allowing the Indian company meet its production expectations by providing powder products with high standards of safety and quality to its customers, primarily companies in Southeast Asia and the Middle East.
The portable factory of Blendhub was born out of the need of powder blending companies to supply their products globally and in a flexible way, adapting to the constraints of the raw materials market and distribution.
The “Portable Powder Blending” has a modular design which allows its transport on a 40 feet container and is internationally patented. It is delivered to the customer ready to produce anywhere in the world and anywhere in the supply chain in just six months from order exclusively with an electrical connection with only 60Kw power.
The plant needs only three operators so the production cost is minimal, creating a clear competitive advantage for its customers.
At the end of last year Food Ingredients First reported that Premium Blendhub, a company united by Blendhub, SLU and Premium Ingredients SL, had obtained the international certification of its Safety and Health Management System, in accordance with OHSAS 18001. The integrated management of the areas of Quality, Environment and Security (both food and at workplace) introduces an improvement in company’s productivity and provides security and quality in facilities and food products.
The OHSAS 18001 standard is the most recognized certification in existence in safety at work and has been in force since 2007. The internal prevention policy developed and launched by Premium Ingredients S.L, working closely with its employees, through a Committee on Safety and Health at Work, has allowed it to get the certification in just one year.
Premium Ingredients S.L added this certification to the three it already had: ISO 9001, certifying the Quality Management System; ISO 14001, which certifies the Environmental Management System, and ISO 22000, which certifies the Food Safety Management System.
