Portola Packaging Launches Lightweight Fitment
The improved seal design also creates greater flexibility in the component and reduces the risk of miss capping and wastage, therefore improving manufacturing efficiency.
18/07/09 Portola Packaging has announced the market launch of its new lighter weight ELC30 carton ‘fitment’ – a two-piece, injection-moulded, non-membrane carton fitment with an improved Tamper Evidence (TE) system.
The ELC30 addresses issues found on existing carton fitment systems, such as:
* The tamper evident band is more securely retained on the spout by means of a patented design.
* The Flexible TE features a greater operating window during component assembly. The improved seal design also creates greater flexibility in the component and reduces the risk of miss capping and wastage, therefore improving manufacturing efficiency.
* The Sealing arrangement allows the fitment to be sanitised more easily by rinsing or UV treatment and is for both ESL (Extra Shelf Life) and aseptic filling processes.
* The easier to open cap has a ‘positive’ TE break for improved consum
