Pernod Ricard Joins Transparency International
24 Feb 2014 --- Pernod Ricard has become a member of Transparency International France.
This international association collaborates with government officials, civil society actors, and public and private representatives in order to promote "transparency and integrity in public and economic life". The Group's entry into the association is part of its efforts of putting into practice its resolved engagement in matters of Social Responsibility.
The first initiative from Transparency International France which the Group has joined with is about the definition of shared standards regarding lobbying. In a joint statement, Pernod Ricard, together with other major French companies, called for the establishment of a general framework that defines a transparent lobbying, coherent with the principles guiding Transparency International's actions. These principles include the association's idea of a responsible lobbying policy, respectful with the concerned parties, and formalized by a charter unique for each of the subscribing companies.
At this stage, six other major companies have already signed this statement: BNP Paribas, Crédit Agricole SA, L’Oréal, la Française des Jeux, La Poste, and Tilder.
