Ove Moberg is Arla Foods’ New Chairman
Ove Møberg has been a member of Arla Foods Supervisory Board since 1992. Åke Hantoft was born in 1952 and has been a member of the Supervisory Board since 1998. His farm outside Laholm in Sweden has a herd of 220 cows.
21/05/07 Ove Møberg from Denmark has been elected Chairman of Arla Foods. Sweden’s Åke Hantoft becomes Vice-Chairman.
On Tuesday, Arla Foods’ supreme body, the Board of Representatives, elected its representatives on Arla Foods’ Supervisory Board. Subsequently on Wednesday, the Supervisory Board elected Ove Møberg and Åke Hantoft Chairman and Vice-Chairman.
"Conditions for milk production are constantly developing across the world and Arla Foods must continue to develop accordingly in order to exploit the new opportunities as they arise. The previous board has performed excellently, and now we must continue to ensure that Arla Foods remains among the leading players in the market. We must continue to go forward through prudent investments and with the courage to commit to the necessary new initiatives," says Arla Foods' new Chairman Ove Møberg.
Born in 1948 and owner of a farm with a herd of 80 cows in Hejnsvig in Jutland, Ove Møberg has been a member of Arla Foods Supervisory Board since 1992. Åke Hantoft was born in 1952 and has been a member of the Supervisory Board since 1998. His farm outside Laholm in Sweden has a herd of 220 cows.
The other member of Arla Foods' newly elected Supervisory Board are: Erik Karlsson, Ingela Svensson, Bengt Darhult, Gunnar Pleijert and Johan von Scheele (all from Sweden), and Thomas Johansen, Bent Juul Sørensen, Viggo Ø. Bloch, Pejter Søndergaard, Jan Toft Nørgaard, Torben Myrup and Steen Nørgaard-Madsen.
Arla Foods' employees are represented on the Supervisory Board by: Leif Backstad and Leif Eriksson from Sweden and Steen Bolvig and Bjarne Bundesen from Denmark.
Ove Møberg replaces the now former chairman Knud Erik Jensen, who has decided to retire at the age of 64.
