Oroweat recently released three new bun varieties to meet growing consumer demand for smaller package counts and healthier eating choices, especially more whole grain and multi-grain options. Oroweat 100% Whole Wheat, Oatnut and Seven Grain Premium Buns are an extension of best selling bread items. All three products debuted this month wherever Oroweat is sold.
"Oroweat's new Premium Buns were developed for people who place importance on what they eat, who aim to live a healthy and active lifestyle," said Dan Larson, Oroweat marketing director. "The new buns are available in a 4-count package, another growing request and perfect for smaller households versus the traditional 8-count size."
"True to Oroweat's values, our new buns offer a unique blend of appealing flavors and nutrition you can enjoy everyday and feel good about yourself," added Larson. "They are great not only for backyard burgers, but also as everyday Sandwich Rolls. Each variety is unique to Oroweat and will add a special touch to chicken, ham and cheese, or veggie sandwiches."
All the products are Trans Fat free with additional nutritional benefits.
While the 2005 Dietary Guidelines for Americans recommend adults consume at least half of their grains servings as whole grains, studies show 40 percent of Americans consume no whole grains. Whole grain products, such as Oroweat 100% Whole Wheat Premium Buns are a good source of fiber and provide important vitamins and minerals. Studies have shown whole grains may reduce the risk of diabetes, heart disease, some cancers and may help with weight maintenance.
