Origin Wine Unveils the Stormhoek Stack
04 Aug 2014 --- Origin Wine has introduced the Stormhoek Stack, a brand new way to consume wine. Created to provide consumers with convenience without compromise, the Stormhoek Stack is a 750ml bottle separated into four ready-to-drink glasses of wine that are snapped apart upon opening.
It is a trailblazing move from the company, which challenges all the rules of traditional wine packaging to provide a truly innovative new platform in the drinks industry.
The environmentally friendly Stormhoek Stack is 100% recyclable, lightweight and shatterproof, making it ideal for outdoor consumption occasions and perfect for sharing.
Made with StackTek technology, the Stormhoek Stack comprises four individual 187ml PET stemless glasses that look and feel like glass – but are 50% lighter and have a shelf life of 96 weeks – meaning the wine stays fresh for longer than any other product in the industry. Each stemless glass is heat sealed with peal-back foil lids and the entire stack is held together with a shrink sleeve label that has a tear-strip ‘zip’ for easy opening.
Tapping in to the ever-increasing demand for new and fun ways to drink wine, and aimed at consumers who want to enjoy a fresh glass of wine without opening a whole bottle, the Stormhoek Stack suits consumers who would otherwise choose a single-serve beer or cocktail.
Bernard Fontannaz MD at Origin Wines, who own Stormhoek Wine, says: “We are delighted to launch the Stormhoek Stack to the UK market. The unique StackTek technology offers consumers the convenience of a non-breakable, single-serve glass of wine while retaining the elevated image of wine in a stylish glass."
“The Stormhoek Stack provides consumers with a practical, emotional and environmental benefit whilst enjoying their favourite wine wherever they choose and provides a unique point of difference at social occasions.”
Launched initially in one variety, the Stormhoek Stack Chardonnay is available now in selected Tesco stores, RRP £7.49.
