Organic Wine Seeks Value Position
30 Oct 2015 --- Brookfield Drinks is introducing a range of organic wines from Spain under the Hanging Houses of Cuenca label. A red is available now, with rosé and white styles to follow next year.
The Tempranillo is available in 750ml bottles, has a strength of 13% ABV and retails at £7.50, or £5.99 when on promotion.
“The Hanging Houses wine range is set to appeal to consumers looking for a high-quality, organic wine at the same price-point and quality as non-organic alternatives,” said managing director Nigel McNally.
“Organic wine is in significant growth in Spain, France and Italy. This is because the price has come down over the last few years and it is now much more affordable,” he added.
“Sales volumes of organic wines have previously been low compared with those of non-organic offerings, as a lack of organic wine production has meant prices have remained high, and higher production volumes have not been met. This is now changing,” McNally said.
