Ocean Spray opens new processing plant
The plant would produce sweetened, dried cranberries and other flavored fruit pieces used in snacks, cereal and baked goods.
24/02/05 Ocean Spray Ingredient Technology Group, a unit of the Lakeville-based cranberry cooperative, has opened a new processing plant in Middleborough, producing sweetened, dried cranberries and other flavored fruit pieces used in snacks, cereal and baked goods.
Ocean Spray Cranberries Inc. said that its Craisins snack food generated nearly $100 million in revenue last year and that sales have increased 25 percent in the past four months. Ocean Spray posted $1.4 billion in sales in fiscal 2004.
Ocean Spray is a cooperative owned by more than 800 cranberry growers in Massachusetts and other states, and more than 100 grapefruit growers in Florida.
