Novamont and Safta Develop New Flexible Packaging Solutions in Mater-Bi

6/10/2011 --- A genuinely made in Italy product, Naturene is biodegradable packaging developed by Saftin collaboration with Novamont and Innovia.

Designed based on a total environmental responsibility concept, Naturene is a heat-resistant laminate that can be easily printed using standard technology. It is also biodegradable - if it is composted correctly - in accordance with the EN13432 standard.

Providing a high barrier to oxygen and water vapour, the new product is suitable for use on most automatic FFS packaging lines and can be used in a wide range of multifarious applications: from traditional bags to stand-up pouches and single-dose stick packs. It can be used for both food and non-food applications: dry foods, such as coffee, sugar, baked products, snacks, etc., dry pet food, powder detergents and secondary packaging. It has special characteristics making it ideal for a wide variety of food products with a high fat content (oils, sauces, butter, etc.)

Naturene will be on show at Interpack, the International Packaging Fair, with an even more extensive range including the CheerPack pouch which has a child-friendly resealable top, and both the top and the cap are biodegradable.
