In the new building, which will measure 522 sq. m. in area and 21m in height, a three-layer coextruding facility will begin operation – the Osterburken site's thirteenth machine.
6/10/2011 --- The worldwide operating manufacturer of flexible packaging, technical films and product components Nordenia International AG is investing approximately €3 million in its German site in Osterburken (Baden-Württemberg). An additional factory building for extrusion is currently being constructed, which will be the site of a new three-layer coextruding facility from mid July 2011 onwards. Nordenia Deutschland Osterburken mainly produces films for food packaging, which are distributed all over Europe.
After the expansion of capacities, the number of employees should rise from 90 to 93. The production volume of the Osterburken plant will increase from 22,000 to 26,000 metric tons per year. In the new building, which will measure 522 sq. m. in area and 21m in height, a three-layer coextruding facility will begin operation – the Osterburken site's thirteenth machine. "With the continued expansion of our production capacities, we will be able to meet the requirements of our customers all over Europe even more successfully in the future,” explains Managing Director Andreas Paul. He emphasizes: "An investment of this volume is also a clear commitment from the Group regarding the Osterburken site.”
The production focus at Nordenia Deutschland Osterburken is the extrusion of blown films in the monoextrusion and coextrusion processes, which means the manufacturing of one or multilayer films. The spectrum ranges from films for coffee, soups, or diapers right up to films for surface protection or light-sensitive products and form fill and seal packaging (FFS). After certification in accordance with the norms DIN EN 15593 (Hygiene), DIN EN ISO 9001 (Quality), and DIN EN ISO 14001 (Environment), the company is currently developing an energy management system in accordance with EN 16001.
