New ideas and big thinking: Inaugural Food Matters Summit launches in London
The event promises a stellar speaker line-up and to inspire innovation
24 Jul 2019 --- Described as “The Davos of the food industry” the inaugural Food Matters Summit will take place on November 19 and 20, 2019 at ExCeL London. The summit is the first high-level gathering of its kind in the UK capital and aims to connect organizations across the food supply chain, bringing together disruptive innovators and established multinational companies to inspire the very best new thinking and accelerate innovation across the global food industry.
The international speaker line-up includes key representatives from the likes of Mondelēz International, Nestlé, cell-based clean meat and seafood company Shiok Meats and Israel-based cell-grown meat experts Adelph Farms. There will also be speakers from Big Idea Ventures, GE Digital Europe and the School of Agriculture and Food at the University of Melbourne.
“Food Matters Summit will provide a forum for new ideas and big thinking and is relevant for anyone with an eye on the long-term future of the food industry,” says Briony Mansell-Lewis, Director of Food Matters.
“The Summit offers delegates an opportunity to learn from industry leaders and disruptors, be inspired by futurologists and world-renowned academics and forge powerful cross-sector industry connections that will influence the future of the global food and drink industry.”
Food Matters Summit allows delegates to build their own program across 12 sessions and three streams. In addition to the stellar speaker line-up, the schedule allows for pre-planned meaningful meetings with potential partners alongside more informal networking.
“Fast-paced changes in consumer tastes, regulatory requirements and the sheer velocity of new digital solutions is driving food industry professionals to ask – ‘what’s next – and how do we get there?’ The inaugural Food Matters Summit will be a focal point for the food industry to connect, engage and take the next steps to deliver the future of food,” adds Deborah Sherry, SVP and Chief Commercial Officer, GE Digital Europe.
The Food Matters Summit conference streams focus on three key themes:
The Food Revolution: How will we feed 10 billion people by 2050? How can the food industry respond to philosophical as well as commercial needs?
Tomorrow’s Innovation: Why is innovation the key to changing global diets for the better? Exploration of alternative proteins, nanotechnology, AI, nutraceuticals and more.
Feeding The Future: How are we accelerating our food system? Who are the top disruptors? What are the consumer behaviors driving change?
