27/10/05 Mimi's Cafe will begin using zero grams trans fat, cholesterol-free cooking oil for all of its fried foods with the introduction of its new menu on October 27, announced Adam Baird, Mimi's Cafe Vice President of Food & Beverage. To continue its commitment to healthful dining, the new menu also will feature an expanded Small Bites section, a new Lifestyle Menu and seasonal menu items allowing guests to enjoy Mimi's Cafe traditional favorites served up side by side with new options for those who crave more health-conscious fare.
Mimi's Cafe is now using zero grams trans fat, cholesterol-free cooking oil to prepare all of its fried foods. Many prepared foods contain trans fat, which increases the risk of heart disease by raising bad (LDL) cholesterol. Unlike many restaurants that purchase pre-breaded products from suppliers, Mimi's Cafe hand breads all of their fried foods at the store level each day. This not only means a fresher tasting product, but now, with the introduction of the new cooking oil, Mimi's Cafe offers guests concerned about combating heart disease a truly zero trans fat product. Great news for French fry lovers, Mimi's Cafe's zero-trans fat French fries, still offer the same taste, aroma and crispiness of the restaurant's traditional fries.
Dieticians and health professionals agree that moderation is the key and portion control is the most successful of diet plans. Mimi's Cafe Small Bites menu encourages guests to enjoy some of their favorite Mimi's Cafe menu items, while not overindulging. The new Zesty Chicken Tostada Salad (also available in full-order size) and the Smoked Chicken and Two Cheese Ravioli have been added to the Small Bites menu.
To meet the demands of guests' diet needs and desires, Mimi's Cafe developed the Lifestyle Menu. The menu, which features lower carbohydrate and lower fat dining choices, is separate from the Mimi's Cafe main menu and available by special request. The Lifestyle Menu includes information such as calorie, carbohydrate and fat gram information.
