Marques De La Mota Announces The Launch Of Don Juan Tequila In The U.S.
18 Mar 2015 --- Marques de la Mota Inc. (MDLM) announces the launch of Don Juan Tequila, the first baroque style fine sipping premium tequila to enter the market. Don Juan Tequila is made from 100% blue agave and produced in Amatitan, Jalisco, officially recognized in 1769, by the Real Audiencia of Guadalajara, as the principal manufacturing center of "vino mezcal" the name used to describe the distilled agave spirit before it was known as tequila.
"The desire to share the passion of enjoying a fine sipping tequila along with the pairing of great recipes, food and music, was the reason to start the company," said Vicente Mota, co-founder of Marques de la Mota.
The company's goal is to produce and distribute the three variations of Don Juan Tequila, Silver, Reposado and Anejo with the purpose of positioning the brand in the top tier of the major spirit distributors catalog in the U.S. followed by global distribution.
"Many distilleries will run their spirit through a third or more distillation process. However, this method, many times, robs the tequila from its intentional purpose and integrity," said Oscar Mota, co-founder of Marques de la Mota. "Don Juan Tequila is distilled twice like many fine whiskeys, giving the connoisseur the baroque experience of the whole process and the enjoyment of a smooth, refined and seductive spirit."
For the aged tequilas, Don Juan Tequila Reposado and Don Juan Tequila Anejo, the company's Master Distiller orchestrated his aging artistry, employing used American bourbon oak barrels to give the spirit its carefully crafted baroque characteristics as manifested by the final product's rich color, aromatic bouquet and multi-layered flavors. The aged tequilas were designed and crafted to be enjoyed as a fine-sipping tequila, as an aperitif or digestif, neat, chilled or on crushed ice. Don Juan Tequila is a complete experience, as the company intends to guide consumers through recommended food pairings, recipes as well as selected music to fully exploit the encounter and pleasure of a bottle of Don Juan Tequila.
"The selection of the name Don Juan Tequila, complements what we believe is the finest distilled Agave Tequilana that is more than a spirit, it's the representation of an entire culture, an understanding of tradition and the art of seduction," said Vicente. In Tirso de Molina's play written in 1630, Don Juan, the eternal myth and living legend, was the protege of the powerful Marques de la Mota, who teaches Don Juan among many things, the appreciation of fine spirits and the art of seduction.
