LPF Pouches Stand Up for Müller’s Mühle

4/19/2011 --- LPF Flexible Packaging is helping Müller’s Mühle stand up and be counted as it meets increased demand for high-quality food on-the-go with its retortable, barrier stand up pouches.

The leading German-based brand has launched a range of convenience foods in rugged stand-up pouches, produced by LPF Flexible Packaging. The packaging is retorted up to 121 degrees and includes a 12-month barrier from water vapour and oxygen.

LPF was appointed by Müller’s Mühle to supply its Gourmet range, which includes three varieties: Rice, Balsamic Lentils and White Beans, with a new type of packaging. LPF supplied a silicon-oxide-coated polyester as a barrier layer instead of aluminium, which allows for microwave heating. The packaging is also designed to withstand the retorting process and offers outstanding barrier properties for longer shelf life.

LPF’s technical team also developed cool grips on the pouches for safe, easy handling after microwave usage.
