Limagrain Gains BRC Certification for Extrusion Factory
“The BRC certification is for our extrusion factory and covers the product design, production and shipping of LCI’s extruded products and pellets,” says Patricia Panel-Dusséaux, Marketing Manager for Snack Products at LCI.
7/13/2011 --- Limagrain Cereales Ingredients has gained its third British Retail Consortium (BRC) certificate “Grade A” – this time for its extrusion factory.
“The BRC certification is for our extrusion factory and covers the product design, production and shipping of LCI’s extruded products and pellets,” says Patricia Panel-Dusséaux, Marketing Manager for Snack Products at LCI.
“This latest award means that three LCI sites satisfy the requirements of this international food safety standard as our MCT corn processing factory in Ennezat, France achieved the Grade A award in 2010, and our factory specialising in the production of Westhove brand masa flour and functional flour achieved its Grade A award in 2008.”
All three awards are within BRC Product Category No 15 - Dried foods and ingredients.
“LCI's traceable production process and Quality Management System form a key part of the priority we give to the quality of our products, and this third BRC award underlines our commitment,” she adds.
Limagrain Céréales Ingrédients (LCI) have developed their expertise in five markets: snacks, breakfast cereals, bakery, convenience food and non-food applications (bioplastics from cereals). Developments in all these areas are underpinned by ulice, LCI's laboratory at the cutting edge of cereal research. LCI is a subsidiary of the Limagrain Group - the European Union’s leading seed group. This gives LCI a unique understanding of cereals and their advantages for the food processing industries. This understanding of the functionalities of each ingredient and each raw material, along with their interactions in the various processes used, enables LCI to develop authentic and functional ingredients as solutions to improve clients’ products and margins.
