Jungbunzlauer Increases Capacities of European Plants

17/07/08 Jungbunzlauer has launched an extensive investment program to increase the capacities of its plants in Europe and to further improve the efficiency of the respective production lines.
Following the strong demand for Jungbunzlauer’s citric acid, capacity and output of the plant in Austria will be increased. The new equipment installed will use the most modern technologies for fermentation, separation and purification in order to warrant the lowest possible consumption of resources and utmost environmental protection. The xanthan gum plant will be expanded as robust growth for the products is expected in all major market segments, the food segment, the house & beauty care segment as well as the oildrilling business.
In Ladenburg, Germany, the capacity for calcium citrate will be doubled to supply the growing demand in the mineral fortification and supplement market. The plant in Ladenburg puts a special focus on the development and production of mineral salts deriving from the Group’s range of organic acids. In Marckolsheim, France, the manufacturing capacity for glucono-delta-lactone, a mild acidifier, sequestrant and leavening agent used in a wide range of applications, will also be increased.
The expansions shall be carried out within the next 12 months, requiring a capital expenditure of approximately 50 million Euro. With it Jungbunzlauer underlines its dedication to serve the growing needs of its customers and to further strengthen its position as a leading supplier of high-quality bio-ingredients.
