Johnnie Walker Teams Up With PGA Tour Professional Jim Furyk

04/07/07 PGA Professional Jim Furyk, currently ranked third in the world, and the makers of Johnnie Walker, the world's best- selling brand of blended Scotch whisky, have announced a three-year sponsorship agreement. The makers of Johnnie Walker are also sponsoring Furyk's lifelong coach, his father Mike Furyk. This is the second time the parties have worked together, as Furyk was sponsored by Johnnie Walker from 1999-2001.
The Johnnie Walker iconic striding man logo and Johnnie Walker Collection branding will appear on the back yoke of the neck of Furyk's golf shirt whenever Furyk is participating in personal appearances, the PGA Tour and USGA sanctioned events.
As part of the sponsorship agreement, golf fans and Johnnie Walker enthusiasts 21 and older can win a chance to play a round of golf with Furyk by entering an online sweepstakes at http://www.johnniewalker.com/PlayWithJim from July 5 through September 15, 2007. The grand prize winner and two guests will have the unique experience of playing a round of golf with one of world's best at the famous Saw Grass Golf Course in Florida. The grand prize, offered where legal, also includes round trip airfare for the winning threesome and 3 days, 2 night accommodations.
Furyk, one of the most dominant players in golf, currently ranks fifth in career earnings on the PGA Tour and has played in more than 345 events over an illustrious 13-year career. Most notably known for his unorthodox swing, he bounced back from a serious wrist injury in 2004 to get back on top of world rankings where he is today.
