J.K. Williams Distilling Releases ‘Young Buck Bourbon’
06 Jun 2014 --- J.K. Williams Distilling will celebrate the release of its first small-batch bourbon at the East Peoria distillery – 526 High Point Lane – with a bourbon release event on Saturday, June 7th at 12:00 pm.
A limited supply of J.K.’s Young Buck Bourbon will be available for purchase on a first come first serve basis.
J.K.’s Young Buck Bourbon is named after the founders’ great grandpa – Eldon “Buck” Williams – who was the oldest child of J.K. Williams, the company’s namesake. Just like Great Grandpa Buck, who at a very young age helped his dad make whiskey to provide for the family during Prohibition, J.K.’s Young Buck Bourbon is aged 6 months and is considered a “young” bourbon. This bourbon is a great example of how a 100 year old family recipe meets modern craft distilling techniques to create a young, but smooth and full-bodied bourbon.
The Bourbon Release celebration will continue through the weekend, and the public is invited to share in the celebration with samples of the family-owned distillery’s handcrafted spirits. Tours and tastings are available Saturdays from 12 pm to 5 pm and Sundays from 12 pm to 4 pm, when visitors are welcome to come and experience the whiskey making process and the history from Peoria’s whiskey heyday.
