Hire Facility Seals Potato Packaging Deal
QV Foods was chosen by Tesco to supply potatoes and parsnips using new packaging solutions in the form of foil trays and board based boxes.
27/02/08 Packaging Automation Ltd, the UK's market leader in the design and manufacture of tray sealing equipment, has been praised by a well-known potato supplier for its ability and willingness to undertake trials and supply equipment on hire.
QV Foods was chosen by Tesco to supply potatoes and parsnips using new packaging solutions in the form of foil trays and board based boxes.
After rigorous trials the machine chosen was a semiautomatic, hand-turned rotary table tray sealer, the PA182, which took only three weeks from order to be up and running on the QV Foods production line - the first heat sealing application for the company.
Robustness and versatility, coupled with the simplicity of its film feed, are among the PA182's key features. The elimination of bug traps and ease of cleaning particularly when strict hygiene considerations need to be met, are also vital. Accommodating trays up to 100mm in depth as standard, the PA182 can seal and trim film from a reel onto trays of numerous materials including CEPT, polypropylene, PVC, board and foil.
