Hinoman Presents First Green Protein Revolution Solution

10 Jun 2015 --- Israeli food technology specialist, Hinoman, has developed a system that enables producers to grow vegetable protein in an eco-friendly system, 24/7, summer or winter, outdoors or indoors.

According to consumer research, global protein consumption will reach 943 million metric tons (MMT) by 2054, rising at a 8.6% CAGR from the current 473 MMT. Whole protein sources (such as algae, insects and Hinoman’s new vegetable solution) must pick up the slack of slowing and unsustainable meat and seafood growth. These sources could claim as much as 33% of total protein supply by 2054.

Alroy told FoodIngredientsFirst: "Hinoman's technology is based on few characteristics, including year-round cultivation and a cultivation algorithm for a high yield crop which yields a 45% whole protein plant."

"We are scaling up the technology to enable us to finalize it by year end," he continued. He confirmed that Hinoman's technology and product are targeted at a strain of the Duckweed family of aqua plants.

"The technology is based and provided through a cultivation system developed in the last few years. It is part of the site management tools, providing a precision agriculture for a manageable vegetable cultivation resulting in an highly pure product. The highly automated system with low need for labor, which suits current farming as the average farmer's age is increasing and few young farmers are joining the force."

Alroy continued: "The technology can be used by a variety of growers around the world, it is provided via our tech transfer remote technology of Hinoman's cultivation algorithm.
