HERMA Introduces New Adhesive Material for Low-Migration Labels
The food-safe HERMAperfectStick is an innovation produced with multi-layer technology, based on a standard emulsion adhesive.
Nov 8 2011 --- Manufacturing low-migration paper labels for food products has now been made simpler by HERMAperfect multi-layer technology. At LabelExpo 2011, HERMA is showcasing a new food-safe adhesive called HERMAperfectStick (code 62Dps), a further development of the standard adhesive 62D that has been enjoying success for several years.
Because of the innovative multi-layer structure of the HERMAperfectStick adhesive the migration of its constituents is reduced effectively. The initial tack has been improved at the same time. The adhesive 62Dps has already been tested by the German institute ISEGA and certified for direct contact with dry, moist and fatty foodstuffs (reduction factor 3).
"HERMAperfectStick is maintaining our strategy of endowing high-performance, all-purpose standard adhesives with added value," says HERMA managing director Dr. Thomas Baumgärtner. "And low-migration food labelling is a highly relevant topic at the moment. The 62Dps gives users the security they need at all times.
This applies not only to the direct, often unintentional contact that is made with foodstuffs, but also in situations in which the packaging material, such as film, is designed to provide, but is not always capable of ensuring a fully effective protective barrier."
