HEINEKEN Asia Pacific Signs Agreement to Invest in Timor Leste

08 Jan 2015 --- Heineken Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd. (HEINEKEN Asia Pacific), the regional headquarters of Heineken N.V. (HEINEKEN), has signed a formal investment agreement with the Timor-Leste government.

Under this agreement, HEINEKEN intends to build a multi-beverage plant near Dili, capital of Timor-Leste. Construction will commence in 2015 and plans include the manufacture of a range of drinks including beer, soft drinks and water.

With the setting up of this multi beverage plant and a route-to-market across the country, it is expected that around 200 direct jobs within local sales and business operations will be created. In addition, approximately another 800 indirect jobs are expected to be created across retail trade, logistics, transport and other service providers over time.
