Gielen Steps Down as FrieslandCampina Chief Operating Officer Business Development
16 Dec 2015 --- Kees Gielen has resigned from his position as member of the Executive Board of Royal FrieslandCampina N.V. on 31 December 2015. Gielen was Chief Financial Officer of Royal FrieslandCampina N.V. from 1 January 2009 to 1 January 2015. He was Chief Operating Officer Business Development from 1 January 2015.
Piet Boer, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Royal FrieslandCampina said: “As interim CEO and CFO of Campina Kees Gielen played a crucial role in the establishment of the merger between Friesland Foods and Campina. He was important to the further development of FrieslandCampina in a broad sense. His insight and drive were essential in setting up and implementing the strategy of the company. He has excellent insight into the global developments in the dairy market with its increasing volatility. Under his leadership the financial organisation and the administrative processes, among others, strongly improved and the alignment of all ICT systems was initiated. We would like to thank Kees Gielen for his commitment and wish him success in his future career.”
Kees Gielen will start working at the Nederlandsche Betaal & Wisselmaatschappij (NBWM) on 1 January 2016. NBWM is a - fast growing FinTech company focussing on faster and cheaper execution of foreign currency transactions for small- and medium-sized enterprises. He is the intended new CEO. His appointment is subject to the approval of the Dutch Central Bank (DNB) and the regulator AFM.
Kees Gielen is a Supervisory Board member of Betagen in Thailand (chairman) and Alaska Milk Corporation in the Philippines. From 1 January 2016 he will be a Supervisory Board member of Sodiaal in France.
